Phone System Lingo Decoder

There are many terms that phone techs use that don't make sense to the typical customer. I will make an attempt to define some of these bizarre terms.

TRUNKS - A phone trunk is a group of lines that connects your internal phone system to other phone networks.

POTS LINE - This is not what Bill Clinton did not inhale, it stands for Plain Old Telephone Service. Describes and analog phone line just like the line at home.

STATION - Not to be confused with Radio "station" or Train "station", station in the telecom world is a telephone that is connected to your office phone system.
